About

This blog is dedicated to the work of John A. Mackowiak Jr. (that’s me!). As of April 2009, he’s relatively unknown, especially outside of Northern Chautauqua County, but he wanted a place to display his work for the world and to archive it for himself.

He’s a student at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Mackowiak sings with an a cappella group called, Much More Chill. He studies media; his major is Audio/Radio Communication with minors in English and Journalism. He loves unique stories from unique people.

Outside of his work as a journalist and a cappella journeyman, Mackowiak serves as Head Counselor and Assistant Program Coordinator for the City of Dunkirk’s day camp, Camp Summer Better Than Others. He takes pride in the influence that he has had among the city’s youth.

He has interned with the NBC News Investigative Unit in Washington, D.C., he has hosted a late night talk show–”Late Night Fredonia,” and he’s been called good-looking by at least one person other than his mother.

Mackowiak eats chili and pierogis. Only chili and pierogis.
